The Weir
$6,000.00
I lived close to the water at Bellbridge, Victoria for a summer and was able to visit each day, sometimes twice or more. I would sit in the shade and draw or paint if it wasn’t too hot. I was mesmerised by the water and the constant and frequent changes, sometimes subtle , often brash. The breeze would ripple the water and the next minute it would be flat, like glass, no movement. A moment comes and gone so swiftly. I tried to replicate this movement in the double sided portrait of the weir. One side the middle of the day; the other side, the evening.
Mounted in a bespoke perspex frame so both sides are visible.
