Albury 2
$1,200.00
Albury is shaped both physically and culturally by the Murray river and the rolling hills of the New South Wales Riverina. Represented here in abstract form, I explored a different relationship to this landscape where I have lived for much of the past two decades.
Conceptual art can be a very freeing exploration of a subject. Not constrained by traditional rules of proportion, realism or perspective the artist can find new meaning and present a different interpretation of what can be a familiar landscape, object or person. In this depiction of Albury, NSW I've brought together the relationship of the rolling hills, the Murray river, the Hume weir and how we interact with all three.
Albury is a busy regional centre, and yet within minutes open country, waterways and tranquility can be found. Nature is still close by and this is at the essence of my expression with this work.
Framed under glass.
