Dusk Beechworth Road

$360.00

I had seen this painting in my mind way before I actually painted it. Driving from Wodonga to Beechworth there is a moment where the scene opens up and there in the middle distance is a very recognisable tree line on a familiar sloped hill. There was a Summer storm brewing and the clouds were moving fast, the trees backlit by the bright sky. I had to drive about 25 kms to get to the right spot and I turned off the road, opened the back of my car, pulled out the paints, canvases, brushes and painted the scene. A friendly tradie stopped. He thought that because of the stuff all spread out behind my car that I had a flat tyre.

All paintings in this series are shadow-box mounted and in a show-wood timber frame ready for hanging or freestanding.
