James Ricketson is an exuberant character who lives in Palm Beach NSW overlooking the ocean.
He has an intense energy, especially when he speaks of his love of humanity. James has done much for many and has landed in hot water a few times in his life. He is happy to share his stories. When I visited James to have a chat with him the birds were all around, flying in for food and sitting an arms length away. Wild birds, not pets. It was a glorious day, a yellow/blue sea day on the coast with sunflowers blooming on his verandah along with red Mandevillas.
I painted him with all his intensity in a bright and happy painting . The yellows and the blues of the Australian coast along with the beauty of the birds and flowers.
Mounted in a timber frame ready for hanging.
