Range Road, Evening Summer

 It was so hot, even into the early evening. Only when the sun drops behind the hills does the temperature drop but even then, only slightly. I had long sleeves on to protect myself against the onslaught of mosquitoes which also love late afternoon, sunset and evening. Sometimes the swarms up at Range road were visible and audible.

I had the paint ready, the colours ready to mix quickly and had covered the palette with plastic to inhibit the paint drying. When the light was just right I worked quickly before it changed. Having looked into the scene and observed the shapes it was meditative applying the paint. The birdsong was loud and beautiful.
