Velma’s Journey

This is another example of creativity finding itself. Velma died many years ago but as I was working on this painting I thought about her more and more. Originally, it was to be a painting of a woman walking into her new life. When I started working on the dress I realised that it was a dress I had seen many times. Velma’s wedding dress. The painting process settled then. It became “Velma’s journey”.
